PARADISE IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINK…

PEAK SEASON: OCTOBER THRU DECEMBER     AMENITIES: FLY FISHING, WHITETAIL DEER HUNTING, CONTINENTAL PHEASANT HUNTING

THE HUNT

It was driven pheasant shooting in Scotland in the late 1980’s that inspired the opening of Joshua Creek Ranch for hunters in 1990. The beauty of this countryside with its dramatically diverse terrain created the perfect scenario for driven shooting as well as the ideal habitat for walk-up hunting for a variety of upland birds. Commitment to excellence has earned Joshua Creek Ranch the designation as a Beretta Trident Lodge for excellence in upland bird hunting and an Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting Lodge, ensuring hunters of an exceptional experience from the field, to the table, to the lodging.

Choose from a variety of bird hunts sure to delight you and your guests. Come and experience the best wingshooting, dining, and lodging that Texas has to offer. If one of these suggested hunts does not meet your needs, we can develop a specifically customized hunting package just for you.

DINING

Dining is always a delightful experience at Joshua Creek Ranch! Year round, whenever the weather permits, lunch is served on the patio under magnificent old oak trees. The same goes for evening appetizers, like Fried Quail, which are served around the fire pit on chilly nights. During hunting season, four-course gourmet game dinners are featured, with main entrees ranging from Grilled Axis Venison With Green Peppercorn Sauce, Amaretto Pheasant Chardonnay, Chukar Chimichurri, Trout Sauteed with Tomatoes and Artichokes over and other succulent game dinners. Lunch during hunting season will find guests dining on Axis Venison Chili, Chicken Fried Axis Venison with Cream Gravy, Pheasant Enchiladas, Wild Game Gumbo, and Pheasant Pot Pie.

Our four-course gourmet game dinners featured during the hunting season (October through March) and simpler, lighter fare during spring and summer months. To enhance your enjoyment while at the ranch, lunches are served on the limestone patio year-round (weather permitting) and appetizers are served around the outdoor fire pit before dinner during the hunting season. All meals are served at Cypress Lodge unless guests have pre-arranged a personal chef at another accommodation. In the spring and summer, a lighter fare is featured, with all-American favorites like hamburgers, grilled steak or chicken, barbeque, and fried fish. Desserts are always homemade, tempting, plentiful and scrumptious. It’s hard to go away hungry from Joshua Creek Ranch!

Your dining experience at Joshua Creek Ranch is sure to be as memorable as your outdoor activities. We welcome advance requests for specific menu items, special dietary needs, iced beer coolers and cocktail set ups. Our goal is to perfectly tailor the culinary aspect of your visit.
