Like the dogs pictured on the cover, we all have different skills and ideas to bring to the table. What unites us is the goal of building a great experience and embarking on a great adventure.

In this issue of Covey Rise, we crisscross the big pond to explore our shared passions. Simon Reinhold’s “British Invasion” recounts a writer and sporting enthusiast’s first trip across the pond from his home in the UK. We hunted in Arizona, and watching his first trip to the US brought new perspective. We live in an extraordinary place and time. Next, we travel back across the Atlantic to revel in a Scottish hunt with the folks at Hound & Hare, a clothing company that celebrates the upland lifestyle. While there, we visit with Longthorne Gunmakers, where innovation in machining and design is creating waves.

All of this travel reminds us that taking our four-legged friends along for the hunt requires an extra measure of safety, and our conversation with Addison Edmonds of Gunner Kennels reveals how a passion for dog safety has changed the kennel landscape. While on the subject of dogs, we welcome a new contributor, Craig Martin, to tell us a little about canine hip dysplasia, and we close with Doc Blythe’s sweet-smelling exposition on dog breath.
